Hey everyone, today I’m gonna share my little project of remaking a Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag. You know, the small one. I’ve always been a fan of Prada’s designs, but sometimes the price tags are just, well, a bit much. So I thought, why not try to make one myself?

I started by doing some research. Found out this Galleria bag first came out in like, 2007, and it’s still super popular. It’s a classic, you know? I also learned that Prada was started way back in 1913 by some guy named Mario Prada. Fancy, right?

Anyway, I looked up the bag online. Saw some pictures, and checked out the prices on a few different websites. Let me tell you, they were selling for like 7 bucks on some sites and then up to $7500 on others! It’s crazy how much the price can change. I guess it depends on whether it’s new, used, or how popular the style is.

So, after I got a good idea of what the bag looked like, I started gathering my materials. I didn’t want to use real Saffiano leather, because, you know, saving money was the whole point. I found some pretty decent faux leather that looked similar enough.

  • First, I sketched out the design of the bag, making sure I had all the measurements right.
  • Then, I cut out the pieces from the faux leather, following my sketch.
  • After that, I started sewing the pieces together. This was the trickiest part, to be honest. I’m not a professional seamstress or anything, but I managed to get it done.
  • Next, I added the hardware, like the zipper and the little Prada logo. I found some cheap ones online that looked pretty close to the real thing.

It took me a few days, working on and off, but finally, I finished it! It’s not perfect, of course. There are a few wonky stitches here and there, and the faux leather definitely doesn’t feel as luxurious as the real stuff. But you know what? I’m pretty proud of it.

It looks quite a bit like the real Prada Galleria bag, and it cost me way less to make. Plus, I had fun doing it! It’s not quite the same as buying the real thing, but it’s a fun little project and I learned a lot in the process.

So, if you’re looking for a fun DIY project and you love designer bags but not designer prices, maybe give this a try! It’s a good way to get a similar look without breaking the bank.

My own remake Prada Galleria Bag

I guess you can say it is a way of “Redefined and recreated” just like what people are saying about the brand, right? haha. Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments!
