You know, I heard them young city girls talking ’bout that YSL ENVELOPE BAG. What the heck is that? Sounds fancy, huh? I reckon it’s one of them expensive purses. They say it’s from Yves Saint Laurent, a name I can barely say. RemakeYves Saint Laurent YSL ENVELOPE BAG, I think they say, yeah, that is what they want. They say you can find these things in them big stores, like Neiman Marcus or something, Bloomingdale’s, that kind of place. Big stores in big cities.
These young folks, they always want the newest thing. I saw one of them fancy bags online, all shiny and new. They call it a “chain wallet” or a “crossbody.” Lord knows what that means. It’s just a purse you sling over your shoulder, right? But they make it sound so special, so expensive. I guess they are expensive, very expensive. I saw prices like $995.00, $850.00, even $830.00! And that’s for the small one! Can you believe it? That’s a whole lot of money for a little bag.
I heard these YSL bags, they got different sizes. The one with flap, oh, they say it’s special. They call it “Envelope Flap,” like an envelope you put letters in. That one, it’s like $850.00. Goodness gracious! You could buy a good cow with that kind of money! And there is a large one, called “Cassandre Large,” for nearly a thousand dollars! That one is for rich people. Then there’s a smaller one, “Cassandre Small,” for a little less. Still a lot of money, though. They even got a real tiny one, “Envelope Small,” still more than what I’d ever pay for a bag.
Back in my day, we just had simple purses. Didn’t need no fancy names or fancy prices. We just needed something to hold our money and maybe a little bit of makeup. These young girls, though, they love these YSL ENVELOPE BAG things. They say it’s a “status symbol.” Whatever that means. Just means it’s expensive and shows you got money, I guess. They say it’s made of good leather, “grain de poudre leather,” whatever that is. It is good leather, I can say, I saw the picture. Sounds tough, I reckon, but what do I know? And it’s got gold on it, too! Real gold, they say. That’s why it costs so much, I bet.
They even sell these bags online. I saw a website called “The RealReal” or something. They sell used ones, but still expensive! They say they “authenticate” them, which means they check if they’re real. Imagine that! People buy fake ones, too. You gotta be careful, I guess. Even the used ones are expensive, though. But they do give you a little discount. Like 20% off, I saw. Still, it’s a lot of money.
Some of these YSL bags got these fancy designs, too. Like this “tri-quilted” thing. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy. They say it’s for “evenings out.” I guess that means fancy parties and such. They are very beautiful, though, even I can say that. It’s got an “adjustable crossbody strap,” so you can wear it however you like. And it’s made in Italy, too! That’s far away. Must be why it’s so expensive.

This YSL ENVELOPE BAG, it’s got a “front flap pouch,” they say, and it’s made with “metal-free tanned leather.” Now, what in the world is that? And “organic cotton lining.” Sounds fancy, I guess. Good for the earth, maybe? They got this thing called “THE CASSANDRE” on it, too. Must be some fancy design. And some of them have “vertical” things. I don’t know, maybe it looks good.
I guess these YSL ENVELOPE BAG things are nice if you got the money. These Specialty Stores, they sell all kinds of them. But for me, I’ll stick to my old purse. It does the job just fine. I don’t need no fancy YSL ENVELOPE BAG to feel good. But these young folks, they love ’em. And if it makes them happy, then I guess that’s all that matters. But I still think it’s a whole lot of money for a little bag!
