Putting the movement together was a whole other story. I used a simple, reliable movement I found. I’m not a pro watchmaker, so I didn’t want anything too complicated. I spent nights, just fiddling with those tiny parts, trying to make sure everything fit. Finally I got it all in place, ticking away nicely.
The strap was the last thing. I found a nice leather one that looked pretty similar to the original. I attached it to the case, and bam, there it was – my own version of the Calatrava 5227J-001.
The Final Product
So, there you have it. My attempt at remaking the Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227J-001. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot. It’s not something I’d wear to a fancy dinner, but it’s a cool piece to have on my desk. Plus, I can say I made it myself. That’s pretty neat, right?
