Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG Online Store: Your Ultimate Guide

Okay, so, I wanted to try and remake that Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG, you know, the one they have in their online store. It’s a classic, they say. Sounds fancy, right? I thought I’d give it a shot and see how it goes.

First, I spent a lot of time looking at pictures of this bag online. I mean, a lot! You can find them everywhere. They call it the JUNE BOX, like it’s a little box or something. They have it in leather, some weird snake-skin looking stuff, and calfskin. I decided to go with regular leather, just to keep it simple.

Next, I tried to figure out the size of this thing. It looked pretty small in the pictures. I got out my ruler and started sketching on some paper. I drew a rectangle, then another one, you know, trying to make a box shape. It was kind of like making one of those paper boxes we used to make in school, but way more complicated.

Then came the hard part: finding the leather. I went to a few stores, you know, those craft stores and fabric places. I found some leather that looked pretty good. Not too thick, not too thin. And it was black, like the bag in the pictures. It wasn’t cheap, though. I guess that’s why these YSL bags are so expensive. It’s real leather, not that fake stuff.

After that, I started cutting the leather. This was tricky! I used my paper pattern and traced it onto the leather with a pen. Then, I carefully cut out each piece with a sharp knife. It took forever, and I had to be super careful not to mess it up.

Once I had all the pieces, I had to figure out how to put them together. This bag has a flap and a little strap. The brand’s logo is also on the front. That logo, they put it on all their bags and stuff. They make clothes and shoes, too, I think. Anyway, I used some strong glue to stick the main pieces together, making a box shape. I had to hold the pieces together for a while to make sure the glue dried properly. Then, I sewed the edges with this thick thread I got. It was tough to sew through that leather, let me tell ya.

I made a flap, and to keep it closed I used a magnet clasp, which I bought online. I carefully sewed it, then tried to attach it to the main part of the bag, which took a long time, because the leather was a little thick and I didn’t want to make a mess.

The strap was a whole other story. I cut a long strip of leather and folded it in half. Then, I sewed it together to make it stronger. I attached some metal rings to the ends of the strap and to the sides of the bag so I could connect them.

Finally, I tried to add that YSL logo. That was tough. I ended up just cutting out the letters from some extra leather and gluing them onto the front of the bag. It didn’t look perfect, but it was close enough.

The whole thing took me days to make! It wasn’t easy, and it definitely doesn’t look as good as the real YSL bag. But, you know what? I made it myself, and it’s kind of cool to have a bag that I made. These designer bags are really expensive. You can find cheaper versions, they call them “dupes.” But it’s not the same, you know? It took a lot of effort, but I’m glad I tried to make my version of this YSL bag. All their bags have a serial number. The one I looked at had it printed on a small leather tab inside one of the pockets. I didn’t bother with that. I think I found the way to remake this thing on my own. I hope they will never change their classic style.

  • Looked at pictures: Spent a lot of time studying pictures of the bag online.
  • Made a pattern: Sketched a pattern on paper based on the pictures.
  • Got the materials: Bought leather, glue, thread, a metal clasp, and metal rings.
  • Cut the leather: Carefully cut out the leather pieces using the paper pattern.
  • Assembled the bag: Glued and sewed the leather pieces together to form the box shape.
  • Made the flap and strap: Created a flap and attached a magnet clasp, also sewed a long leather strap and attached metal rings.
  • Added a logo: Cut out letters from leather and glued them on to mimic the YSL logo.

The End Result

It’s not perfect, but it’s my handmade version of the YSL JUNE BOX BAG! It was hard work, but fun. And I learned a lot about working with leather.
